Lubbock, Texas – Tonight, a Lubbock boy is upset and seeks the help of citizens after his favorite tricycle is stolen. Jude Porras, like all his 11-year-old boys, loves cruising around the neighborhood whenever he gets the chance.
“Whenever the weather is nice, he gets on it and rides it. It goes up and down the block. It goes all the way down the block to this big driveway,” said Roxanne Martinez, Jude’s mom.
Jude has autism and the tricycle is perfect for his particular needs.
“I’ve tried giving him a two-wheeler like a normal bike. I’ve tried a little one with training wheels and he won’t do it. , is the first tricycle or bicycle he has tried to ride.He does it all by himself. This is a tricycle with special needs,” Martinez said.
However, it became a nightmare for the family when they found out that Jude’s tricycle had been stolen.
“He went looking for it. He went looking behind the driveway. He went looking behind the tree. Then he was so sad, like my heart broke.” he just wanted to ride.
And he says, ‘My bike was stolen, my bike was stolen,’ and he gets all sad about it,” Martinez said.
Martinez is hoping someone can provide information on the missing tricycle.
“Literally everyone on that block knows it was my son’s tricycle and knows he has special needs and will steal it like it’s no big deal. It just breaks my heart to think that someone could steal from a child like that,” Martinez said.
Martinez also sets up a GoFundMe so Jude can buy a new tricycle. You can donate here.
