Aurangabad: Bed District Zilla parishad CEO Ajit pawar has issued a new order suspending 26 teachers after discrepancies were found in the reassessment of disability rates. The latest measures have increased the total number of suspended teachers in the district to 78.
authorities said 52 ZP school teachers were suspended for similar reasons on 23 January. Education officials said the teachers facing scrutiny and action were those recruited under the reserved category, meaning candidates with disabilities.
Mr Pawar told TOI: People with at least 40% disability are eligible for the disability quota. ”
Pawar said the fraud came to light more than two months ago when the government opened a website to allow teachers to move between schools and within districts. “A total of 326 teachers applied to transfer with their disability certificates. At the same time, a delegation of activists working for the disabled contacted us and raised the issue.” said Pawl.
“All applications and disability certificates were reviewed by six teams of doctors. I was asked to undergo a medical examination before Government Medical CollegeAn initial set of reports on 148 teachers found that 52 had submitted false certificates,” he said.
“By regulation, teachers with disabilities have priority in relocation policies. On top of that, they claim special allowances, seek tax benefits, have access to special disability-friendly tricycles, computer subsidies, etc. All these benefits for suspended teachers will be immediately frozen.Recovery of the past has also started,” Pawar said.
