The Ministry of Local Development has established a national sidewalk rehabilitation project focused on making sidewalks more accessible to individuals with disabilities. The first phase of the project focused on Maadi and Zamalek, refurbishing 65 sidewalks with ramps added at both ends to facilitate movement.
The ministry will work with the Misr El Kheir Foundation to implement projects in the governorates of Luxor and Aswan.
In Maadi, 28 ramps have been installed throughout the district, including 10 on streets 9 and 8 and 10 near the Corniche and Maadi Club.
