    2022 Facing Autism Inc. prom boogie dancers hit the dance floor last February.

    Facing Autism Inc. is about to host its second annual prom for individuals with special needs.

    prom, “Hollywood Night” Dinner begins at 5:30pm and dancing continues from 6-9pm. Tickets are $15 per person for dinner and dancing. The ticket deadline for him is February 15th.

    Facing Autism Inc. is a local organization that works to increase awareness of autism and acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum by hosting events in the community for individuals with special needs and their families. is.

    “We do a lot of events for young people, so our board is trying to put something together for the older, special needs people in our area. There was Director Michelle Hammersland said: “Like my son, many of them didn’t go to high school dancing, so we decided it was good.

    Last year’s event, held in February at Iowa Central Community College’s East Campus, “Great success” Hammersland said. “In that first year, we grew beyond space.”

    The party kicks off at the 2022 Facing Autism Inc. Prom last February. This year’s event will be held on March 4th.

    Prom is open to all individuals with special needs over the age of 16 and is not limited to individuals diagnosed with autism. Last year, a young man and her mother drove from near Omaha to attend the dance, Hamersland said.

    “Caregivers are encouraged to participate if they feel their individual needs warrant support.” Hammersland said. “I just want them to buy tickets, too.”

    Tickets are available now at Hy-Vee at Fort Dodge, but can also be purchased online now at https://bit.ly/3Ci6HX6. Hamersland said the deadline for ticket purchases is February 15, and he will not be able to purchase admission tickets on the night of the event.

    Dinner will be catered by Starlight, with desserts from Larita’s Cakes and More, and dancing will be DJed by Mojo Productions. Students of the Iowa Central Photography Program will also set up photo booths at the dance venue. Formal attire is welcome, but not required.
