A teenage girl with a disability in foster care needs a forever family to look after her. Horizons Her Residential Care Center in Rural Hall has been Lela’s home for the last few years. Their mission is to provide special opportunities for people with disabilities. A place where Lera was raised with great care until she was adopted. “Lella, how are you feeling today? I think you’re pretty happy,” Jane Price said. Happiness is what Lela brings to the others who work with her on Price and Horizons. Price is a licensed Horizons expert and reads to Lela to provoke her emotions and reactions. Price, speaking on behalf of Lera, said that over the past few years, Lera has grown in a positive way. It’s possible and a lot of vocalization, showing her wants and needs,” Price said. “She has good eyesight and good hearing, and she attends Lawrence Middle School here in town, and she’s doing very well. She can walk in her walker and makes a lot of vocalizations to show her wants and needs.” Price said. “She has good eyesight and good hearing, she goes to Lowrance Junior High School here in town, and her grades are very good, isn’t she? Lera?”
Most of all, Price said Lera needs a patient adoptive family who will spend quality time with her and support her needs.
