Autism Acceptance Week is set for the end of March, when local autism charity Sycamore Trust UK launched a series of events aimed at promoting autism acceptance and raising awareness of autism. is held. They also hope to raise a few pounds at the same time!
Same as last year, Sycamore’s SWAP team. Ann Marie Lyons-Mummery and Cheryl Kearney tackle sponsored walks with parents whose children have participated in the Speak with a Picture project for preschoolers aged 2 to her 4. Anyone who wants to participate on Wednesday, March 29 can do so. Walk (and talk) from Romford to Dagenham and back again. The 10 mile walk will start at 10am and will return to Romford around 2pm.
This is all part of Sycamore’s commitment to Autism Acceptance Week, which begins on Monday, March 27th and continues through Friday, March 31st, on Dare to be Different. Based in the Liberty Center’s Autism Hub, the charity wants as many people as possible to get involved, catch up with old friends, and make new ones along the way.
These are tough times, so any donation big or small is most welcome.
