Benefit Games: Hubbard High School (350 Hall Ave. SE) will host Shoot for a Change, a benefit basketball game featuring student-athletes from Youngstown’s Hubbard High School and Potential Development High School at 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children and students and can be purchased at the entrance.
Shoot for a Change is the brainchild of Hubbard University sophomore Isabella Williams, whose cousin Christoph Rhoads is a Potential Development student. Designed to meet the project requirements of her community and career-exploring classes, the event included not only a basketball game, but a basket raffle, 50-50 raffle, concession stand, and T-shirt sales. will be All proceeds help potential development.
Hubbard High School Cheerleaders and the Potential Development Pep Club will also participate.
Potential Development is a Pre-K through Grade 12 school for children with autism. Provide children with autism with a safe, structured educational environment with support services that give students the skills and independence they need to lead productive lives.
Masonic Lodge Fundraiser: The Cortland Freemasonry Lodge will be holding a fundraiser on Saturday from 9am-noon at the lodge, 3263 Everett Hull Road. All proceeds go to Cub Scout Pack 4025, the charity of the month. A representative will also be available to answer questions about membership and activities.
Dance Classes: Youngstown’s Jewish Community Center offers spring dance classes beginning Mondays. Classes will be held at the center until May 5th. The JCC School of Dance program teaches the artistry and discipline of dance. For more information, visit jcc youngstown.org/jccdance.
