Budley Civic Society Chairman Richard Perrin will be speaking at The Swinging Sixties in Budley on Wednesday, January 11th at 7:30pm.
Veronica Bradley of the Kidderminster Historical Society said:
“He takes audiences on a virtual tour of Bewdley Town Center in the 1960s and uses imagery to show comparisons to the current scene.”
“Again, it’s especially surprising to people who weren’t in this town 60 years ago. Finally, he asks if the 1960s were the ‘good old days’ as far as the structure of the town is concerned.
As with the Wednesday evening meeting which begins at 7:30pm, the association will also hold a meeting on Thursday afternoon at 2:15pm.
Day and evening meetings are held at the Carpet Museum at Stour Vale Mill on Green Street. There is a small fee for welcome visitors.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, January 26th, with Daniel Parnell giving a talk titled “The Undercroft of Worcester Cathedral: Past, Present, and Future.”
