About the lecture:
Michelangelo Melici da Caravaggio (1571-1610), known simply as Caravaggio, was a Milanese painter who spent most of his artistic life in Rome. the last four years of his life. He moved between Naples, Malta and Sicily until his death. As a Baroque painter, he is a reference for the cultural reaction of the Counter-Reformation to Luther’s Protestant principles.
In this lecture, Caravaggio’s work, which was the first to use a technique called “tenebrism”, will be experienced through the perspective of thought and experience of David López Ribes, a contemporary painter at the dawn of the 3rd millennium. David Lopez invites the works of Caravaggio, Velázquez and Vermeer to interact with the thought and action of St. Charles his Borromeo and Gutenberg, integrating the Internet, Instagram, TikTok and the Metaverse.

David López Ribes is a Spanish painter and multidisciplinary artist. He lives and works in the New York area. Lopez received his 2012 Pontifical Academy Award from Pope Benedict XVI for his contributions to Christian humanism in the modern world.
