    Cedar Lake Bourbon Raffle Helps Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

    Is it too early to talk about bourbon this morning? Because that’s exactly what we’re trying to do. I’d like to tell you about CEDAR LAKE’s first bourbon raffle. And I have Cathy Golightly this morning to discuss it with me. She is the Executive Director of the Silver Lake Foundation. Thank you for being here. appreciate. Tell us a little bit about this event. Well we are pretty excited. This is my first bourbon raffle. we were very lucky. Got a good one from Steve Haydn at Big Bourbon. The folks at WESTERN HABITAT FOR HUMANITY running an amazing online bourbon auction. So there is no true ebb and flow for Bourbon and Kentucky. Not always and we are very lucky. Tell us a little bit about this raffle. How can people get involved and what can we expect to get? So we plan to sell only 1000 tickets. have understood. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased at CEDAR LAKE DOT ORG. With 10 prize packages, your chances of winning are very high. And there are some great bourbons. These prize packages including BROWN-FORMAN 150th Anniversary. We never publish. It’s just for families as seniors and Barrel was handpicked by Ausley Brown for its bottles. So what’s our top prize, and we’re so grateful to Braun-Forman for that donation. Let’s talk about good gifts. Exactly. People aren’t used to the important work you do at CEDAR LAKE. Can you talk a little bit about that? of course. For 52 years, CEDAR LAKE has been the largest private provider of housing and community-based services for adults with intellectual disabilities. We were the answer to the question parents asked. We first started with what happens to our child when we can no longer care for him. We are truly unique when it comes to providing continuous care. So no matter where the person with that intellectual disability is in their life journey, when they move in, they can move in and live completely independently in their apartment. Supports employment of independent life skills as age and needs change. we are with them. Many people with intellectual developmental disabilities may develop dementia early. So we serve, so they stay in the Cedar Lake family and never get to the point where we have to say we’re family. A raffle like this helps keep you all in that important spot.     The Cedar Lake Foundation is hosting its first-ever Bourbon Raffle. Cedar Lake is Louisville’s largest provider of housing and community-based services for adults with intellectual disabilities. The raffle will sell only 1,000 of his tickets, winning 10 Bourbon prize packages. Inside the package is a Brown-Forman 150th Anniversary Bourbon that was never sold to the general public and was only produced for family and company executives. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased here through February 9th, with the winner announced on his February 10th. The organization will use all funds from the raffle to continue its mission of answering parents’ questions about what will happen when their children are ready. You don’t have to take care of them anymore.

    Louisville, Kentucky —
