Mount Dora, Florida –Police are offering a reward for information in the murder investigation of a husband and wife found dead in the elderly community of Mount Dora over the weekend.
As local 10 Orlando news partner WKMG reports, Mount Dora Interim Police Chief Mike Gibson has been offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the deaths of an 83-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman. I said I have money. Police said he was a resident of the community, although he did not release the names of the two.
Mount Dora Police Department said officers responded to Waterman Village around 4 p.m. Saturday, following reports of possible suspicious activity. The bureau did not provide information on how the men and women were murdered, but Gibson said it was a “pure homicide investigation.”
“We are moving, this case is moving fast. I am confident it will be a successful outcome,” he said.
Gibson said people may have seen or heard something, and have been asked to report any information that might help the investigation.
“The most trivial information that someone has seen in the last few days, the most trivial information, could be the primary, could be the center point of the wheel, right? Holding the wheel together It could be something you’re doing,” he said.
Mayor Chrissy Style reiterated to residents, “We don’t need to feel unsafe in our city.”
“You don’t have to feel like you have to watch your back. It’s as safe as it was a few days ago, two weeks ago,” she said. “This is something that doesn’t normally happen in our city when I met with the people of Waterman Village this morning and we are still safe.”
Gibson said the victim’s name will be released after meeting with the couple’s children on Monday afternoon.
