ELMONT, NY (PIX11) — Samantha Dennis Primus’ sister, who is deaf, speechless, and autistic, was found in the cold rain on December 23rd, and sent to Queen’s Hospital Center. I couldn’t believe I was taken to And she was released in the early hours of Christmas Eve at midnight.
“She was discharged at 2am on Christmas Eve, according to the hospital,” the missing woman’s sister, Joanna Peck, told PIX11 News. “Are you saying you gave her a list of her shelters?”
Since then, Primus, 46, has not been seen.
A Brooklyn resident was visiting her sister in Elmont, Long Island, before the Christmas holidays. Her mother went to St. Lucia to visit her brother who was undergoing surgery.
Peck revealed that his sister wanted to return to Brooklyn on the night of Thursday, Dec. 22. However, Peck said Primus, known as Denise, agreed to stay for three more days.
“We have our own sign language,” Peck said. “We really understand each other.”
Peck said her sister said she was fine with her plan to wait a few days.
“She gave me a thumbs up and a smile when I went to work,” Peck said.
But hours later, around 4:00 am on Friday, December 23rd, home security footage showed Primus leaving his sister’s house.
It was a howling wind and cold rain during the day when hundreds of flights were canceled due to holiday travelers.
Joanna Peck eventually learned that someone called an ambulance for her sister 16 hours later on 190th Street and Hillside Avenue in Hollis, Queens, about 3 miles from Elmont.
“Someone must have seen her lying on the ground,” said Peck. “She was lying on the ground.”
An ambulance took Primus to the Queens Hospital Center emergency room, where he was evaluated. She reportedly told staff her legs were hurting her. Primus was reportedly put on Tylenol for a sore leg.
Meanwhile, Primus’ family had filed a missing persons report with the Nassau County Police Department.
A few days later, paramedics who picked up Plymouth in Hollis found a missing flyer online and notified Nassau County detectives that they had taken Plymouth to Queens Hospital Center on Friday, December 23.
However, Primus was away from the hospital for a long time.
Later, the family learned that Primus had gone missing for the second time after visiting a hospital in Queens, and that a new missing person report had to be filed with the NYPD.
“They should have been trained more,” Joanna Peck said of the people who dealt with her sister. I’ll call the police then.”
Primus was one of ten siblings who were born in St. Lucia and later settled in New York and Canada.
Primus has lived with his mother and brother on East 91st Street in Brooklyn for many years. During her teenage years, she went missing once and left for the Bronx.
This is the longest period Samantha Denise Primus has been away from home. Her sister disappeared from Elmont first.
