In a Twitter thread, Haye thanked Trenton Lee Stewart, the author of the novel the show is based on. (The Secret Keepers, The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict), with actor Tony Hale (Beep, Hocus Pocus 2) and Kristen Schaal (Last Man on Earth, Bob’s Burgers) and showrunner Darren Swimmer (Melrose Place, Control) and Todd Slavkin (Smallville, Defiance). He ended his message by happily revealing spoilers for the series. “Children remain friends forever”.
Mysterious Benedict Society It follows the curious exploits of four young teens who become members of a clique of intellectual students who are all mentored by Hale’s eccentric Mr. Benedict. When the group’s mentor’s life is threatened, they discover that Benedict has an evil enemy, his LD his Dr. Curtain, his twin brother. The second season of Per Deadline took place a year after the events of the first season, and the four leads were tasked with the first task to thwart Dr. Curtain’s plans.
