Lakewood, Ohio — If you’re cleaning up after the holidays, the Lakewood Historical Society will be offering housewares, home décor, Christmas ornaments, china, and small trinkets on January 12 and 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , may be interested in accepting donations of other items at the Historical Society’s home. , Harbor Center, 13314 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood.
Currently, we cannot store clothing, bedding, or shoes. Donated items will be sorted and stored for one of the Association’s future resale events.
Volunteers interested in sorting, valuing, and tagging donations should contact the Historical Society at 216-221-7343.
Volunteer Appreciation: Staff at the North Olmsted Senior Center will recognize volunteers at a special appreciation brunch on January 18th at 10:30am.
It includes volunteers who have assisted the center throughout the year, such as welcoming guests, assisting with programs and activities, checking in attendees for lunch, and running the bingo program. Seats must be reserved. Those interested in volunteering can ask staff about hot lunch and bingo volunteer opportunities.

Holiday Light Recycling: The City of Fairview Park is collecting unwanted, old or broken holiday light strings through mid-January. They are recycled with the help of the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District.
Light strings must be brought into Fairview Park City Hall and deposited in the collection bin next to the Service Department/Building Department door at the rear of the building.
