He tweeted, “Shocked and sad that an event I was really looking forward to speaking at had to drop me. said they couldn’t guarantee my safety.So they canceled the event.Let me handle it…”
Dahl also quoted a tweet bashing the festival organizers for making such “nonsense” topics part of the festival, saying “no comment.”
Asked about the reasons behind the program’s cancellation, the official Raghav Chandra told Free Press: I got verbal advice from the state government itself that they would go against him. He received information that there would be opposition to both the filmmakers and the topic. ”
The literary festival’s official website has now removed this topic from its schedule.
