PALMDALE — The Palmdale Water District Board of Directors will consider a 7% increase in the cost of living for General Manager Dennis LaMorreau at its meeting Monday.
Staff reported that the increase was part of his contract renewal and was the result of a December 19 performance evaluation.
The increase is the same as that given to district employees.
Staff reports that, if approved as an agreement item, on Monday, this would be the seventh amendment to Ramoreau’s original contract, which was signed in May 2015 and has been renewed annually since 2017.
A 7% cost-of-living allowance increases his base salary from the existing $292,788 to $313,283.
No other changes to the contract are proposed.
During Monday’s meeting, the board will also review an agreement with AECOM to develop a work plan to address issues found at the Little Rock Dam during an annual inspection by the state’s Dam Safety Division.
Staff reported that repairs were needed to address a lack of water shutoff, leaks into the dam bay, and spillway leaks due to clogged weeping holes in the dam.
The contract has a maximum amount of $140,468 and is budgeted.
AECOM’s proposal to develop a work plan to be submitted to the Division was selected in a competitive bidding process in which three proposals were submitted.
Staff reported that in addition to work plans, AECOM will also provide engineering plans, specifications, bid assistance, and site inspections during construction.
Board meetings begin at 6:00 pm and are open to general members only by telephone. The conference can be accessed by dialing 571-748-4021, PIN 305-627-579#.
