Pullman Island, a long-standing cat shelter adopted from the Chautauqua County Human Society
of Chautauqua County Humanitarian Associationof”“Season of Hope” You have reached your goal of putting 100 animals into adoption or foster care.
CCHS Senior Program Director Brian Papalia Due to inclement weather, the program has been extended to Friday, December 30th. He said 83 animals were adopted and 17 were sent to foster homes.
Papalia said a special moment happened on the last day of the drive. Pullman Island had a situation in 2020 where her 83 cats came in at once from her Fredonia neighborhood apartment in Dunkirk. Pullman Island has been with us ever since. So it’s been almost two and a half years that he’s been hanging out with us at the cat colony.
According to Papalia, Sparrow, who has been in the shelter since October 2021, has also returned home with Pullman Island.
