JAMMU, JANUARY 28: The Department of Linguistics and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Jammu Cluster University, in collaboration with CIIL Mysure, will organize a three-day international conference on languages, literature and folklore starting today.
Padma Sri Jitendra Udhampuri was the chief guest of the first event. He spoke about the Dogura’s rich cultural heritage and their language.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Bechan Lal, in his speech, spoke of the importance of linguistics, literature and folklore in modern times, stating that such a program would increase knowledge about culture and heritage among student scholars and society. Emphasized the need to organize. big.
The event began with the introduction of Professor Geetanjali Rana Deen, Humanities and Liberal Arts Cluster, Jammu University. She spoke of the relevance of folklore in terms of traditional knowledge, with a particular focus on mythological approaches.
Dr. Reena Salaria from HoD Department of Linguistics gave a welcome speech. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. S Imtiaz Hasnain, Head of Department of Linguistics and Rector of Aligarh Muslim University, with a presentation on the topic “Linguistics, Literature and Folklore: Reflecting the Common Zone”.
Dr Sonal Kulkarni Joshi, Professor of HoD Linguistics Deccan College Pune; Panchanan Mohanty Professor, former CIIIL Mysuru Director of Mathura, GLA University; Dr Abhilasha Singh, Dean & HoD English & Foreign Languages INGTU will be a prominent speaker at subsequent plenary sessions over the next two days.
The conference was conducted in mixed mode with over 60 participants offline and over 260 participants from over 50 universities in India and abroad including JNU, AMU, BHU, IIT Kharagpur, IITkanpur, EPLU, ISI Kolkata. will be Langasa Baghdad University.
The first session was attended by Dr. Jatinder Kafria, CLUJ Registrar and Event Moderator. Dr. Naveen Anand, DAA and Chair, Dean of various faculties of CLUJ, Principal of CLUJ’s Constituent Universities and Jammu Degree Universities, J&K and External Representatives.
The program was facilitated by Akanksha Sharma from the Department of Linguistics. Dr. Farooq Mir from the Host Department coordinated with all participants for the presentation. A formal letter of appreciation was presented by Dr. Ravi Parihar of the Department of Linguistics.
