Lynchburg, Virginia (WFXR) — Refuges across the country, and homes here in Central and Southwest Virginia, are quickly filling up with animals seeking permanent homes. Furry Friends from WFXR News gives our local shelters a chance to show off their adorable adoptable pets in the hope that their forever families will look after them!
On Tuesday, January 31st, Claire Leffe of the Lynchburg Humane Society introduced Smiley, Tyra, and Cheerio.
Smiley is a carefree girl who lives up to her name. She has one of the biggest smiles of hers you’ll ever see!According to LaFew, Smiley is about a year and a half old and she loves cuddling and playing with stuffed animals. “Smiley came on as a lost pet and she lost a little bit of her weight, but she’s made so much progress!” she said LewFew. “She’s had a great history with children and enjoys socializing with other dogs. She’s already been spayed and we’re taking some of her latest shots.”

Tyra is a glamorous woman, maybe even more beautiful than her name! say. According to her foster parents, Tyra loves wand toys and lasers and she has a very big appetite.

If you love talking kittens, look no further. LeFew says Cheerio is the most talkative kitten at the shelter and enjoys chatting with visitors. She is about 2 years old, petite, spayed and has all her vaccinations.
