A company in the Hatay province of southern Turkey has developed two groundbreaking assistive technology devices aimed at helping individuals and seniors maintain a better life.

Named ‘Aparon’ glasses and ‘Aparon head mouse’, the devices facilitate the use of mobile phones and tablets by people with disabilities and are different from other 3-axis products already produced in Turkey. It is said to have the most outstanding features.

Aparon glasses have the great feature of being able to distinguish between artificial blinking and natural blinking. Another device, the 3-axis Aparon Head Mouse, can be used when the head is turned up, down, left, right and sideways, making it easier to use TVs, tablets and phones, especially for paralyzed people. is intended for Or those who are paralyzed, those who are prone to problems with muscles and joints.

Hasan Hüseyin Kahraman and Öykü Gülbaş, students of Fırat University and actively working for a company that has provided devices to the Turkish market, provided more information about the device, which is said to be manufactured only in Turkey at the moment. Did.

Two students said they believe the real obstacles lie in technology, not people, saying, “We are making assistive technology devices that enable people with disabilities and the elderly to live better lives.” We are supporting them as much as possible,” he said.

They pointed out that these types of devices are manufactured in other countries, but the students noted that the feature that sets this device apart from its overseas counterparts is that it distinguishes between artificial and natural blinks. I said it can be done.

The most distinguishing feature between Apallon Head Mouse devices and other 3-axis products is the presence of x, y and z axes. With the device facing up, you can move it up, down, left, right, and sideways. So, thanks to basic head movements, people can use phones, tablets and computers.

The Aparon Head Mouse Device is suitable for people who are paralyzed from the neck down. “We have users who have already tried the device and we are proud of the satisfaction they felt when they used it for the first time. It is a promising device for disabled and sick people.”

“The most important feature is that they are the world’s first 3-axis. They are produced entirely in Turkey, both in terms of software and hardware. These devices are designed for people with disabilities are produced to remove technology barriers because they cannot use phones and tablets, our aim is for them to use technology products,” said Gülbaş.
