The Pakistan Academy of Literature (PAL) and the literary body Animan Urdu Weily held a mushairah for poetry lovers here on Monday.
Islamabad, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – January 2, 2023): The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and the literary body Animan Urdu Waley organized a mushairah for poetry lovers here on Monday.
Renowned poet Anwar Massoud presided over the session, and notable Urdu poets such as Wasi Shah, Waheed Ahmad, Amal Iqbal, Ambryn Salahuddin, Sajad Baloch, Ambaleen Hasheeb, Nilofar Afzal and Rakib Mukhtar presented their poems.
Event organizer Asma Awais told APP that Anjuman Urduwale is a gathering of like-minded friends working under the supervision of nationally and internationally renowned authors and poets.
She said the organization’s manifesto is to bring Pakistani youth closer to literature and to promote Urdu.
She said that annual all-Pakistani and international mushairahs, literary training sessions and conferences are organized for the promotion of literature.
A large number of writers, poets and the poetic public attended the event.
