Life is a daily struggle for Palestinian refugees living in Lebanese camps. The challenge is even more acute for the disabled Palestinian refugees in these camps. To address the many challenges facing Palestinian refugees with disabilities, the Palestinian Disability Forum (PDF) was launched in Southern Lebanon as a local network of groups and organizations serving Palestinians with disabilities. .
PDF’s work is very important because there are a significant number of Palestinians living with disabilities in the Burj El Shemali, El Busu and Ain El Hilwe camps in Saida, South Lebanon. In partnership with Anera, the PDF Center provides physical rehabilitation and other services within the centre, as well as home visits to Palestinians with physical disabilities who live within the camp.
Recently, Anera partnered with Penta to deliver prosthetic limbs to centers for distribution throughout the camps.
