Rapid City, South Dakota – Monument Health’s Special Rodeo offers a variety of rodeo activities for people with disabilities of all ages.
Rodeo activities include face painting, dummy ropes, stickhorse barrel racing, animal petting, and bucking barrels.

Each participant was paired with two volunteers. Many organizations and people were there to help with the event, including:
“So daughter Abby volunteers for therapeutic horseback riding with a suncatcher. And her husband Neil came last year and offered a sideways ride with the horse. Son Luke is roping.” and Ashley is helping with the face painting,” said Christina Saunders, a pediatric physical therapist at Monument Health. You can come and feel the

Due to the icy conditions, the SunCatcher Therapeutic Riding Academy was unable to bring the horses due to the risk of injury.
But a volunteer knew someone who had horses at the Black Hills Stock Show and brought him in for the children to pet.
“They were all smiling when they approached and saw us. It was nice to see that,” said Tate Luedke, 20, of Caputa.
