Take Flight! Wildlife Education is a program designed to familiarize audiences of all ages with wildlife and ecology using live animals, natural artifacts and theatrical techniques. This program reminds us of the importance of understanding the natural world for the lives of people living there, including us humans.

The program is free and features birds of prey. Birds of prey such as hawks, owls, peregrine falcons and their relatives have long captured our imagination. The terms “hawk’s eye” and “falcon’s speed” are common in our culture. Only by meeting these magnificent predators up close and in person and hearing their history of interaction with humans can you begin to understand how they do it. We have much in common with them in the vast and complex world of nature.
This engaging and fun free program features live birds of prey and is approximately one hour long. It will be held on Thursday, February 9th at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the Sheridan Public Library. Doors open at 6:30 PM. We welcome adults and children of all ages. Very informative. The library is located at 103 West First Street in Sheridan, a beautiful uptown setting in rural Hamilton County.
The program is sponsored by the Sheridan Historical Society and supported by the Dreyer family and Sheridan’s Waite Grain Elevator Company. Waitt Grain is a locally owned and operated business that has been serving Hamilton, Boone and surrounding counties since 1968.
