New Orleans (WVUE) – On Saturday (January 28), the Spartan Society will award scholarships, costumes, and Carnival Parade spots to local high school sixth graders who have “demonstrated their commitment to their communities through leadership and public service.” Did.
The award was presented by the Order of Sparta (the male division of the Spartan Society) and the Order of the Phoenix Mysteries (the female division of the Society). The group and their winners will ride together at the Spartan Society Parade on the Uptown New Orleans Route on February 11th.
The winners of the Knights of Sparta’s “Torchbearers of Tomorrow” Scholarship are:
- Hayden Caron (Jesuit High School)
- Liam Gillen (Ben Franklin High School)
- Frank Williams (Booker T. Washington High School)
The winners of the Order of the Phoenix “Future Flame” Scholarships are:
- Brooklyn Atkinson (Archbishop Chapelle High School, Metairie)
- Kyla Jackson (Grace King High School, Metairie)
- Taylor Vander (North Shore High School, Slidell)
