
NEW DELHI: There is no place for terrorism in a civilized society, parliamentary speaker Mallikarjun Khaji said on Tuesday, expressing anguish over two consecutive terrorist attacks that killed six in Rajuri, Jammu and Kashmir.
Two children were among the six people killed in attacks in the village of Rajouri on Sunday and Monday.
“We are deeply saddened by the two terrorist attacks in the states of Rajri, Jammu & Kashmir that have left 6 precious lives lost and 15 injured, including 2 children. I unequivocally condemn these heinous terrorist attacks against the Kashmir Pandits within the country,” Kaji said on Twitter.
“Terrorism has absolutely no place in civilized society. The people are united on this issue.
He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the attack.
Samiksha Sharma, 16, and Vihan Kumar Sharma, 4, were killed in an explosion in Rajuri’s Dangri village on Monday. Local residents said the explosion occurred near the home of Pritam Lal, a victim of Sunday’s attack. In two incidents he killed six people.
On Sunday night, suspected terrorists opened fire on three houses in the village, killing four people.
Fourteen hours later, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the village, killing cousins Samiksha and Bihan.
Local residents said the terrorists set up an IED on Sunday that was missed during scanning by police and security officials.
