The incomparable Toni Morrison will be honored posthumously at Princeton University.
an exhibition called Toni Morrison: Site of Memory, curated by Assistant Professor of English and African American Studies at Autumn Womack, Princeton. We will focus on the deceased artist’s creative process and its impact on the past, present, and future.
Speaking about the event, Womack said, “The importance of Toni Morrison’s writings to American literature, art and life cannot be overemphasized.”
She continues: By envisioning this initiative ranging from exhibitions to symposiums to partner her projects, we wanted to demonstrate the importance of the archive in understanding Morrison’s work and practice. ”
Womack adds: But I also wanted to show that this archive in particular is a site that opens up new directions of exploration and inspires new kinds of collaboration. ”
The exhibition will run from February 2023 to June 2023, and visitors will also be exposed to the life of Toni Morrison.
