Chris (middle, green) has been an ore volunteer at TADSAD for over 30 years.

It pays tribute to a man who is passionate about providing sport and leisure to people with disabilities and disadvantaged youth.

Ramsgate native Chris Tull worked for many years as Senior Leisure Officer for Thanet Council, leading the TDC Sport Matters team to ensure safe, handicapped-accessible play areas on the island.

On December 23rd, my beloved son, uncle, and great-uncle passed away. he was in his seventies.

Chris is a founding member and past president of TADSAD (Thanet and District Sports Association for the Disabled) and has dedicated more than 30 years of his life as a volunteer, providing people with new skills, fun and meeting places. Changed my life. to make friends.

    Chris’ family said:

“Chris was a talented planner, organizer, problem solver, and a lot of hands-on, hands-on talent. and was responsible for many aspects of the job, including the installation of modern and safe children’s play areas to ensure access for disabled people.

“Chris’ interest in helping people in need inspired him to form TADSAD, a volunteer-run club more than 35 years ago where people with disabilities could enjoy sports twice a week in a friendly environment. I was.

“In his spare time, Chris loved working with classic cars. He had an encyclopedic memory of makes, models, specs, etc. I will do anything for anyone.

“Chris embodied so many virtues and we are all better off with him in our lives. While he is mourned, he is comforted by the kind words and support of those who have touched his life.”

Colleagues at TADSAD say they are determined to carry on Chris’ legacy to TADSAD.

A spokesperson said: “We are devastated by the news that our longtime collaborator Chris has passed away.

“We have all witnessed the tremendous impact Chris has made on the lives of young and vulnerable people. Sadly, when lockdown hit us, we had to shut down. No. This is when Chris stepped down from his role as chairman.

“We are working tirelessly to resume and continue the legacy that Chris began more than 35 years ago.”

Chris’ funeral will be held on Thursday, January 19 at noon at St. Luke’s Church in Ramsgate.

This is followed by a dedication at the Thanet Crematorium before returning to St. Luke’s to remember Chris.

If you don’t want to go to the crematorium, wait for your family and friends to return and stay at St. Luke’s Church.

Only family flowers are requested, but will be donated to a charity chosen in Chris’ memory on the day.

Black is not required, feel free to wear any color you think Chris will like.
