VIDEO: How the BHTA and tissue viability nurses can work together to improve patient care

The BHTA is dedicated to raising services and product requirements, supporting the sector, and promoting ethical trading. David highlighted that through their combined efforts and knowledge, tissue practicality nurses and the BHTA can work holistically to enhance patient care.

David Beavis, Chair of the British Healthcare Trades Associations (BHTA) Beds & & Assistance Surfaces Area, described how tissue viability nurses and the association can interact to improve client care at the Tissue Viability Society (TVS) Conference 2021.

In his session on the 24th September, David reviewed the TVS mission declaration and how this not just resonates with him personally, but likewise how these values are shared by the BHTA. He highlighted both organisations devotion to disseminating details and promoting good clinical practice.

David also signposted to the wealth of free resources that the BHTA has offered for healthcare specialists, such as its series of helpful assistance files, covering subjects such as pressure ulcer avoidance, health care mattress cleaning and care, and suggestions on selecting the best health care mattresses. He also noted the BHTAs useful Get Wise series of brochures, supplying information to experts on a variety of topics, consisting of pressure ulcer prevention in sitting.

David finished his session by providing an invite for professionals to join him and his section at their regular section meetings to encourage, share and contribute information around product issues and improvements.
