It’s literature lovers’ favorite time of year as the York Literary Festival returns in 2023.
More than 20 events take place throughout March at venues across the city, including York St. John’s College, St. Peter’s School, The Crescent and the York Explore Library and Archive.
We’ve put together a guide to eight exciting events at this year’s festival, including events with best-selling authors Juno Dawson When Julia Armfieldbroadcast legend David Dimbleby Workshops and activities for children.

A life of crime with Martin Edwards
Martin Edwards was awarded the CWA Diamond Dagger, the highest honor for British crime fiction, for his outstanding contributions to the genre. He is president of the Detection Club, former chairman of the CWA, a consultant to the British Library’s Crime Classics, and is also captain of the series his champion of the University Challenge for Christmas 2022.
